TR-RT-001 - Istanbul and fascinating West Turkey
1 Day: Istanbul

On arrival in Istanbul our team will pick you up at Atatürk airport and transfer you to the hotel, giving information about the program. Overnight in Istanbul.

2 Day: Istanbul

Begin your day with a tour of Topkapi Palace, residence of the Ottoman Sultans for about 400 years, with its fabulous collections of jewels and other artifacts. Continue the tour with a visit to Hagia Sophia, originally built as a church by Constantine the Great in the 4th century and used as a mosque during the Ottoman era until 1935 (today it's a museum encompassing both Christianity and Islam). Next visit the Blue Mosque, famous for its beautiful blue tiles decorating the interior walls. Built in the 17th century and both it and Hagia Sophia are considered masterpieces of their period. Later, we will discover the highlights of the ancient hippodrome, Egyptian Obelisk, Serpentine Column, and others. Afterwards we will walk to the Covered Bazaar, a labyrinth of streets filled with all sorts of tempting items to purchase: harem bracelets, colorful carpets, hand-painted ceramics, and more (it's said there are 3,000 shops!)

3 Day: Gallipoli - Troy - Canakkale

06:30 am early in the morning departure for Gallipoli. There we will see the famous archeological and mythological site of Troy, home of the "Trojan Horse" and "Helen of Troy". Overnight in Ayvalik

4 Day: Pergamon - Epheus - Kusadasi

After Breakfast we will depart for Pergamum to visit a city dating back to the time of Alexander the Great, being once one of the main centers for learning in the ancient world. Today’s program brings you to the acropolis, famous with the steepest theatre of the ancient world and the Asclepion, one of the best medical centers of its time, where Galen practiced medicine. We then continue to Izmir and have a panoramic drive through the city. Our last visit Ephesus; one of the greatest cities in the Roman world. Visit includes the ruins of Odeon, Hercules gate, the temple of Hadrian, the magnificent library, Agora and fantastic Greco Roman theatre

5 Day: Pamukkale / Hierapolis

After breakfast we will depart to Pamukkale to visit the ancient city of Hierepolis, a city that gained importance in the Roman times because of its thermal springs and healing waters. Over thousands of years calcite-laden waters created travertine terraces. It is one of the most stunning natural sights in the World. Overnight in Pamukkale.

6 Day: Pamukkale - Antalya

Today we visit weaving school and production cooperative where you are given an educational and entertaining lecture on Turkish tribal art and weavings. We then leave the Aegean region to head for Antalya where we will stay overnight. 300 km

7 Day: Antalya

In the morning we will drive through the coastal plain of Pamphylia. On our route we first stop by the ruins of Perge, which was visited by St. Paul on his first missionary journey. There you can stroll along the mosaic sidewalk of a colonnaded street past the stadium and theater. After coming back to Antalya, we will stroll through the picturesque old town with its narrow streets and typical wooden houses overlooking the marina, to discover Hadrian’s Gate, the Fluted Minaret, the Truncated Minaret, and Hidirlik Tower. We will complete the day with a refreshing tour to the waterfalls of Karpuzkaldiran. Dinner and overnight at the hotel
