TR-BT 001 - In The Footsteps of Saint Paul
1 Day: Istanbul

Your Guide will welcome at the Airport.

2 Day: Istanbul – Adana

After breakfast, visiting St. Sophia Basilica, historic seat of the Byzantine church, built in 537 AD and now museum whose mosaic, stained glass windows and decorated domes have been crafted to create an environment of breath taking beauty. After visiting, Chora Museum, a small Byzantine church with striking frescoes, transfering to the Airport for the flight of Adana. Overnight in Adana.

3 Day: Adana

Today a full day tour takes you to the past hilltop crusader castles and the port of Alexandrite (Iskenderun) in Antakya  and site of ancient Antioch (acts 6:5, 11:19 – 30, 13:1-3, 15:1-2 and 22-35). Here we visit the cave church where St. Peter led workship, the same church that sponsored the missionary journey sof Paul and Barnabas. Also visiting local ( world – class ) museum of Roman mosaic from nearby ruins. End of the tour return to Adana for overnight.

4 Day: Adana – Cappadocia

Beginnnig the day by visiting the birth place of St. Paul, Tarsus. (Acts 9:11-13, 11:25, 21:39, 22:3) You may  also visit his traditional well. Driving through the beautiful Taurus Mountains and passing though Cillician gates to the Anatolian Plateau. Continue to the biblical Cappadocia, famous for unique landscapes, underground cities as well as towns carved from the regions soft volcanic rock. End of the tour arriving to the Hotel, overnight in Cappadocia.

5 Day: Cappadocia

After breakfast, a full day touring the moonlike topography of Cappadocia. The absolutely unique landscape of Göreme with it’s rock chapels carved by early Christians and decorated with frescoes dating from the 16th and 10th century is unforgettable experience. Then we visit the underground city, where thousand of early Christians lived concealed from their persecutors in eight story complexes of underground dwelling. After lunch we visit the village of Zelve where there are many talented potters. Before returning hotel to enjoy the picturesque views of this ancient and historic land. Overnight in Cappadocia.

6 Day: Cappadocia – Antalya

After breakfast, enjoy a morning drive across the rolling steppe to Konya to visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana, then continue along the Taurus Mountains to Antalya (Attalia of acts 14:25) where Paul stopped several times. This area is called the Turquoise coast because of the exquisite blue colored waters against the backdrop of towering mountains. Overnight in Antalya.

7 Day: Antalya

A full day tour is beginning with Antalya archaeological museum, and then two ancient Pamphylian Hellenistic and Roman cities : Perge (acts 13:13-14, 14:25) where Paul preached an early missionary sermon, and the huge and nearly intact theatre at Aspendos which is the best preserved one in the Mediterranean area boasting a capacity of 15.000 spectators and still used today for the special event. Overnight in Antalya.

8 Day: Antalya - Pamukkale

After breakfast departing for Pamukkale (Cotton Castle) where there is whitish fortress of the Roman spa. Hiarapolis can be seen from miles away. This was Philip the Natures Home. We will visit the extensive Necropolis. Churches and baths then stop at nearby Laodeca to understand the concept of the neither hot or cold ( Rev 3:14-22:Col2 : 1, 4: 13-16 ) enjoying pleasant bath in the warm mineral waters of your hotels pool. Overnight in Pamukkale.

9 Day: Ephesus - Kusadasi

This morning we drive via Meandervalley to Ephesus and explore it’s unforgettable expanse of Greco – Roman and Christians remains ( Ephesus : Rev 1:2, 2:7; Acts 18:19-28, 19:1-4 ) Ephesus was the home of St. Paul between 54 and 57 AD. Nearby visit the Virgin Mary’s House on the top of the Mount Nightingale. Where it was discovered based on a vision of a german Catherine Guerick. We visit also St. John the Evangelist Basilika where he was buried according to a legend. For evening continue drive to Izmir( Smyrna. Rev 2:8-2 ). Homer’s birth place on the Aegean coast. Overnight in Kusadasi.

10 Day: Kusadasi - Bursa

After breakfast departing for Pergamum. En route we will visit to the interesting ruins of Sardis. ( Rev. 3.1-6 ) a city of artisan guilds St. Paul’s time which includes one of the better Synagogue ruins of biblical times. After lunch visit the ruins of biblical Pergumum ( Rev. 2:12-17 ) and it’s Asklepion, a Roman medical centre and Acropolis over looking the surroundig country side including the Altar of Zeus. Then drive to Bursa. Overnight in Bursa.

11 Day: Bursa - Istanbul

Today we will tour in Bursa, the ancient Ottoman Empire’s first capital. Visiting the Green Mosque, and the green tomb. Then visiting Nicea. The Byzantine capital for 100 years upon the occupation of Constantinople in 13th. Century. Also visiting St. Sophia basilika. End of the tour driving to Istanbul. Overnight in Istanbul.

12 Day: Istanbul

After Breakfast we begin a guided tour exploring the old city with highlight including the magnificent Topkapı palace. Then we walk across the Byzantine hippodrome, the Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmed completed in 1616 and famous for it’s colourful ceramic tiles. There will be time in the covered Bazaar with it’s 3.000 exotic shops. Overnight in Istanbul with the opportunity to join an optional dinner accompanied by folk dance entertainment.

13 Day: Istanbul

After breakfast, your escort will transfer you to the airport for to fly home
